The Story of A Touch of Glass
In 1982, Bob Wheeler retired from Nabisco Corporation and moved to Canton, Texas. Bob had been doing stained glass as a hobby for several years, so he opened a Stained Glass Studio / Gift Shop on Trades Days Blvd to supplement his retirement. Hundreds of Bob's creations are found around Texas, and many people learned the craft through the lessons Bob would teach.
One of the people who learned the art from Bob was Tom Moore. In the mid-90's, Tom began his glass career with Bob, and quickly became proficient. So much so that Bob would call on Tom for his help if he got too busy or if a project was too large. The business grew and Bob let Tom join A Touch of Glass as a partner. Bob and Tom worked together for many years, until Bob and Esther moved to Ft. Worth to be near their son in 2007. Tom is carrying on the business in Canton, but now on a part-time basis. The studio is now located in a building near his house just outside Canton.
Tom retired from his other job in 2012 and is still in Canton providing stained glass services. He and Kathy travel a lot, so if you want to work with him on a stained glass project, it would be best to call ahead for an appointment.
A small portion of our past projects is on display in the galleries. There is one gallery for stained glass projects, one for etched glass, and one for garden art. We could provide you a hundred references from satisfied customers. Contact us for any of your stained glass needs, you won't be sorry.
